AUSTIN PEDICAB ADVERTISING + SPONSORED RIDES

This Is Where Kween Cab Started.

Kween Cab began offering pedicab rides in Austin in 2008. Since then, Austin has become one of the strongest examples of why street-level media works: the biggest crowds rarely stay in one building, one district, or even one kind of event.

SXSW takes over downtown. ACL fills Zilker Park. Formula 1 and MotoGP turn Circuit of The Americas into an international event campus. Moody Center and the University of Texas generate year-round arena and football traffic. Austin FC fills Q2 Stadium. Between them sits a city built around music, hospitality, nightlife, tech, and people moving from one thing to the next.

Kween Cab builds pedicab advertising, sponsored rides, mobile OOH, street teams, and event programs around those movements.

AUSTIN HAS NEVER BEEN A ONE-VENUE TOWN

The Crowd Moves. That Is the Opportunity.

Austin works best when the campaign is built around the event footprint instead of a single address. During major weekends, attendees move among hotels, restaurants, brand houses, music venues, stadiums, festival gates, parking, hospitality events, and after-hours programming.

That is exactly where a mobile campaign earns its name. A pedicab can be advertising on one block, transportation on the next, and a brand interaction in between.

The point is not to be everywhere in Austin. It is to be where your audience is going next.

THE BIG AUSTIN OPPORTUNITIES

Different Events. Very Different Audiences. All of Them Move.

SXSW

SXSW is the obvious street-level media opportunity. In 2026, the conference and festivals reported nearly 499,000 total participation, 400+ brands activating, thousands of musicians, and programming spread across hotels, clubhouses, theaters, restaurants, venues, and blocks throughout central Austin.

That distributed footprint is what makes SXSW valuable for mobile OOH. People are constantly changing locations. A branded pedicab can stay visible between activations, help connect attendees to the next stop, support a brand house, or turn a useful ride into part of the activation itself.

Austin City Limits Music Festival

ACL brings roughly 75,000 music fans per day to Zilker Park across two weekends. The festival gates are only one part of the opportunity. Downtown hotels, restaurants, shuttle points, nightlife, sponsor events, rideshare zones, and the long trip back from Zilker create a much larger movement pattern around the festival.

This is one of those events where the value of a ride is self-explanatory. A sponsor does not have to convince somebody that shorter walking is a benefit.

Moody Center + University of Texas

Moody Center is a 15,000+ seat arena hosting 150+ events annually, including major concerts, University of Texas basketball, family shows, and other live events. Just across the UT event district, DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium holds more than 100,000 football fans.

That creates recurring crowd windows around campus, parking, hospitality, concerts, game days, and nearby entertainment where mobile OOH and sponsored rides can be deployed around a specific event instead of waiting for one annual festival.

Q2 Stadium + Austin FC

Austin FC has built one of the most dependable recurring sports crowds in the city. Q2 Stadium holds more than 20,500 fans, and the club has continued to post sellout streaks deep into the 2026 season.

Soccer gives brands a repeatable game-day audience, while concerts and other stadium events create additional opportunities for event-specific campaigns around North Austin.

Downtown Austin + Hospitality

Not every useful Austin campaign needs a wristband or a starting grid. Downtown hotels, Congress Avenue, East Sixth, Red River, Rainey Street, corporate events, product launches, and private hospitality programs can create smaller but extremely targeted windows for street-level media.

The audience may be narrower. That can be a feature, not a problem.

SPONSORED RIDES

Turn the Walk Into the Brand Experience.

Austin creates an endless supply of trips that are close enough to feel walkable and far enough to become annoying after a long event day. Hotel to activation. Festival edge to downtown. Dinner to showcase. Parking to stadium. Meeting to party. Party to the next party.

A sponsored ride turns that friction into utility. The sponsor covers the trip. The attendee gets something useful. The brand becomes part of the experience instead of another logo competing for attention.

MOBILE OOH

Austin Does Not Need Another Static Sign.

Wrapped and branded pedicabs can move through the same corridors the audience is already using. Campaign branding can include vehicle wraps or panels, wheel covers, driver apparel, QR codes, and other creative elements appropriate to the program.

The operating plan should follow the event: concentrated around hotel traffic during SXSW, movement to and from Zilker during ACL, race-weekend hospitality, campus event traffic, or a scheduled brand activation downtown.

STREET TEAMS + SAMPLING

Give the Moving Media a Human Layer.

Street teams can support the fleet with sampling, promotional distribution, QR engagement, pickup coordination, lead-generation prompts, and event-specific messaging.

Austin is especially good for this combination because so much brand activity already happens outside traditional venues. The vehicle gets noticed. The ambassador gives people a reason to stop.

AUSTIN ROOTS. BIG-EVENT EXPERIENCE.

We Have Been Working This Market Since 2008.

Kween Cab started in Austin before it became a national event operation. Over the years, the work expanded from ordinary pedicab service into major festivals, stadium events, mobile advertising, branded transportation, and large-scale event operations.

That history is useful because Austin is not a market we discovered on a media list. We have watched the event districts change, the venues change, the traffic patterns change, and the crowds get much bigger.

The brand can be new to Austin. The operating plan should not be.

CONVENTION + CORPORATE EVENTS

Austin Is Still Booking Crowds While the Convention Center Rebuilds.

The Austin Convention Center is currently closed for redevelopment, but the convention and corporate market did not disappear. Events have shifted into hotels, Palmer Events Center, distributed downtown venues, and citywide programs while the new convention center is built for a planned 2029 reopening.

We cover that changing landscape separately on our Austin Convention + Event Advertising page so this market page can stay focused on the whole city.

PROOF OF PERFORMANCE

The Campaign Should Leave More Than Tire Tracks.

Depending on the program, reporting can include ride counts, route activity, GPS route data, photography, activation notes, and other proof-of-performance elements appropriate to the campaign.

The exact reporting package depends on what the campaign is designed to accomplish. The point is that street-level media should still be accountable.

PLANNING AN AUSTIN CAMPAIGN?

Tell Us the Event. We Know the City.

Send us the event, dates, audience, and objective. We can help determine whether the campaign belongs downtown, around a stadium, at COTA, near Zilker, around a hospitality program, or across several parts of the event footprint.

You do not need to arrive with the fleet size, exact route, pickup plan, or final media mix. That is part of what we are here to solve.
