GEORGE R. BROWN CONVENTION CENTER ADVERTISING

When the Show Takes Over Downtown, Don't Let Your Brand Stay Trapped in the Booth.

Kween Cab puts brands into the pedestrian traffic surrounding Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center with branded pedicabs, sponsored rides, mobile OOH, street teams, sampling, and other street-level activations.

The GRB is not sitting on an isolated campus. It is planted in the middle of downtown Houston, directly beside Avenida Houston and Discovery Green, with major hotels, restaurants, sports venues, meetings, dinners, and after-hours activity all pulling attendees beyond the exhibit hall. That is where a convention campaign can keep working after the badge scan.

THE GRB ADVANTAGE

A Big Convention Center Inside a Walkable Downtown District.

The George R. Brown Convention Center spans roughly 1.8 million square feet, including more than 700,000 square feet of exhibit space. Outside, Avenida Plaza adds nearly 100,000 square feet of pedestrian-friendly event and leisure space.

The convention center connects by skybridge to the 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston and the 1,000-room Marriott Marquis Houston. Discovery Green sits directly across the street. The result is a dense convention ecosystem where attendees repeatedly move between the show, hotels, meals, meetings, entertainment, and downtown destinations.

For an exhibitor or sponsor, that movement is media inventory if you know how to use it.

THE BIG SHOWS AT GEORGE R. BROWN

This Is Why the Houston Page Exists.

George R. Brown hosts very different audiences throughout the year, from energy executives and geoscientists to gamers, cosplayers, collectors, creators, quilters, and pop-culture fans. The tactic should change with the show. The opportunity to own more of the attendee journey does not.

DREAM CON

Dream Con has become one of Houston's biggest fandom and creator-economy weekends. The 2026 event drew about 45,000 attendees to the GRB, bringing anime, gaming, content creation, esports, film, music, and internet culture into downtown Houston.

That is a highly social, visually engaged crowd. Branded rides, bold vehicle creative, sampling, QR activations, and creator-facing campaigns can keep a sponsor visible far beyond a booth or panel room.

COMICPALOOZA

Comicpalooza is Texas' flagship comic and pop-culture convention and has called the GRB home since 2010. Comics, anime, gaming, cosplay, film, fantasy, horror, collectibles, and celebrity programming pull thousands of fans into downtown for a full weekend.

For brands, this is the kind of event where the street can be as visual as the show floor. A wrapped pedicab does not look out of place in the crowd - it becomes part of the spectacle.

ANIME MATSURI

Anime Matsuri brings a multi-day anime, cosplay, gaming, music, fashion, and pop-culture audience to the GRB. The audience is built for visual creative, social sharing, merch, sampling, and high-energy brand interaction.

This is where a pedicab can be more than transportation. Done correctly, it can become a moving piece of the event atmosphere.

INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL / HOUSTON

The International Quilt Festival is the largest annual quilt show in the United States. Its 2025 Houston edition drew more than 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 25 countries, with 600+ vendor booths, 1,200+ quilts on display, and hundreds of classes and events.

It is a large, committed specialty audience spending long days at the convention center. Sponsored transportation, retail-adjacent campaigns, hospitality, and useful attendee services can make a brand especially welcome after hours on the show floor.

NAPE SUMMIT

NAPE is one of Houston's most commercially important energy gatherings. The 2026 Summit represented 3,500+ companies and more than 450 exhibiting companies, bringing decision makers, operators, capital providers, land professionals, and service companies together in one place.

For B2B brands, this is not a mass-awareness play. It is concentrated access to a valuable industry audience. Sponsored rides between the GRB, hotels, dinners, meetings, and nearby hospitality locations can put a company in front of the right people repeatedly during the week.

IMAGE - INTERNATIONAL MEETING FOR APPLIED GEOSCIENCE & ENERGY

IMAGE brings the geoscience and energy community to Houston, with roughly 8,000 attendees representing 83 countries and more than 1,100 presentations at the 2026 event.

The audience is technical, international, and business-focused. Mobile OOH and sponsored transportation can give exhibitors another way to stay visible after attendees leave the technical program and move into the downtown convention district.

ONE VENUE. VERY DIFFERENT CROWDS.

The Campaign Should Fit the Show, Not Just the Address.

A Dream Con campaign should not look or behave like a NAPE campaign. One may lean into bold creative, sampling, QR engagement, and social visibility. The other may be better served by polished sponsored transportation, executive hospitality, meeting-to-dinner movement, and a tighter B2B message.

That is the advantage of treating pedicabs as a flexible street-level media platform instead of a one-size-fits-all billboard. The vehicle, route, staffing, creative, and call-to-action can all be built around the audience that is actually in Houston that week.

MOBILE OOH AROUND THE SHOW

Booth Traffic Is Not the Only Traffic.

Branded pedicabs can circulate through approved areas around the downtown convention district, keeping campaign creative visible while attendees move between the GRB, hotels, meals, meetings, entertainment, and evening events.

Campaigns can incorporate passenger-area wraps and panels, wheel covers, driver apparel, QR codes, promotional messaging, and other creative elements depending on the program.

The point is not to drive around aimlessly hoping somebody notices. The point is to put the media where the audience is already moving.

SPONSORED RIDES

Make the Brand Useful.

Sponsored rides turn the branded pedicab into something attendees can actually use. The sponsor covers the ride, passengers ride at no charge within the campaign program, and the brand becomes associated with a useful moment during a long convention day.

At the GRB, that can mean helping attendees move between downtown hotels, restaurants, meetings, evening events, and other approved destinations around the convention district.

A logo gets seen. A free ride gets remembered.

STREET TEAMS + SAMPLING

Put People Behind the Campaign.

For shows where interaction matters, branded pedicabs can be paired with street teams, brand ambassadors, product sampling, promotional distribution, QR engagement, or event support.

The vehicle creates the visual anchor. The team gives people a reason to stop, scan, sample, ask a question, or take the next step.

PROOF OF PERFORMANCE

Show What Happened Outside the Exhibit Hall.

Depending on the campaign, Kween Cab can support proof-of-performance with ride counts, route activity, operating notes, photography, video, and other reporting appropriate to the activation.

A mobile OOH campaign, a sponsored ride program, and a sampling activation should not all be measured the same way. The reporting should match what the campaign was built to do.

PLANNING A HOUSTON CONVENTION CAMPAIGN?

Tell Us the Show. We Will Help With the Street.

Send us the convention, dates, audience, and campaign objective. We can help determine whether the right mix is branded pedicabs, sponsored rides, mobile OOH, street teams, sampling, or a combination of them.

If you are exhibiting at Dream Con, Comicpalooza, Anime Matsuri, Quilt Festival, NAPE, IMAGE, or another major GRB event, the campaign does not have to end at the booth.
